Unlocked: “Higher than the soul can hope or mind can hide”

I walked to the Pont des Arts and made a list.

I tore the list into a handful of confetti to scatter in the Seine.

I took the lock from my purse.

I kissed it, slid the key in, unfastened it, let it spring open.

I tossed the lock and both keys in the river and walked home a different way.

  1. This, I love. So simple and yet, so much to think about. What's the tradition (or what I assume is a tradition) with the locks and keys in Paris, or the Seine?
